AI-powered Video Training for Zellis
The challenge
Zellis, an award-winning Payroll and HR solutions provider, needed a modern, engaging way to deliver software training. Their existing paper-based training materials lacked interactivity and were difficult to update. To enhance user experience and streamline training, they sought a partner who could help them create a series of dynamic, easy-to-maintain training videos to be embedded directly within their software products.
The Solution
Zellis partnered with First Media to develop a series of engaging software training videos using the AI-powered video generation platform, Synthesia. This innovative tool enabled the creation of 119 short, snappy, and informative explainer videos to guide users through various tasks within the system.
Synthesia was chosen for its advanced natural gestures featured across avatars, its diverse selection of voices, and a library of over 140 avatars—making it culturally inclusive. Crucially, by creating the videos within a shared workspace, they could be easily updated by simply modifying the script in line with system changes—eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming re-recordings in the future.
To bring these training materials to life, Zellis provided screen recordings of various system tasks. First Media then applied expert instructional design techniques to produce scripts that added essential context while maintaining a friendly and engaging tone. Additionally, light video editing ensured the training content was concise and effective.
Taking a design-first approach, First Media’s design team created a stylish video format based on Zellis’ brand guidelines. This included a consistent template, an animated intro and outro resulting in a polished professional look across all videos.
The Results
The collaboration resulted in the successful transformation of Zellis’ paper-based training manuals into 119 engaging training videos. These videos not only improved the user learning experience but also provided a scalable and future-proof training solution that could be updated effortlessly. The use of AI-driven video production ensured longevity, consistency, and a professional finish, helping Zellis deliver high-quality training content to their users with ease.
