Equality & Diversity Matters

Working alongside The FA’s Safeguarding team, we created a fully interactive eLearning course highlighting the issues around Equality and Diversity and the impact on the game.

The Challenge

The FA takes Equality and Diversity very seriously. They wanted an eLearning course to challenge, educate and inspire coaches to change attitudes and behaviours. Having worked with The FA on a number of activities including events for their 'For All' campaign, we understood the need to address issues of equality and diversity in a way that coaches and players can relate to.

Our Solution

Working alongside The FA’s Safeguarding team, we engaged with stakeholders to create a fully interactive eLearning course. With such a sensitive subject we chose a mix of activities to highlight the issues around Equality and Diversity and the impact on the game. Through illustration, video and interactive scenarios, learners were led through a series of personal stories and experiences from players and coaches that they could identify and empathise with.

The courses were built using HTML5/CSS3 and are fully responsive across mobile, tablet and desktop. AS SCORM complaint courses they were loaded onto The FA’s Totara platform and rolled out to all coaches.

The Results

The course has been successfully delivered to over 10,000 coaches in less than 2 years and has proved highly effective in improving the knowledge and attitude of coaches in football.

The FA can measure the progress, understanding and knowledge or the coaches who take part, easily accessing the data from their LMS.
