How to create a positive impact on your new recruits!
Sustainability is a hot topic right now across the business industry and one that can’t be ignored, even when it comes to eLearning design & development. The First Media team noticed an uptake in bringing sustainability to the forefront of many companies’ visions, even just with their stand designs this year at Learning Tech.
Archipel had swapped out the use of normal paper for biodegradable sheets that had seeds sprinkled throughout, enabling you to plant the leaflet once finished, which we thought was just AWESOME! We were also given some beautiful wildflower seeds from Sustainability Unlocked to help areas with low biodiversity, giving the insects, birds and bees something to buzz about! It was truly special to see so many companies moving to a more sustainable future. Biodiversity is something that we learnt so much about with our recent eLearning project for Biobest, so it was great to see this in action throughout the expo.
As we all know, the ability to create content on your phone has never been easier, BUT, is the content created actually good or is it just convenient? We noticed this year there was a lot of interest in custom eLearning content that would immediately prompt your brain to associate with the brand in question.
Bespoke content was everywhere at Learning Tech, and most businesses were explaining about their off-the-shelf solutions they create. Gone are the days of adding stock images within eLearning design, it is all about personalising the learner’s journey. From videos, to quizzes, games and more, all appropriately branded.
The fastest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach and let's not stop at men. I feel like this comment is true about all of us and if not, what’s your secret!? While we were at Learning Tech we noticed the distinct smell of fresh coffee, warm crepes and of course various candy favourites. Whilst this doesn’t have much to do with eLearning, it definitely helped keep our creative team fueled!
This year, exhibitors stepped up and had so much on offer (besides their incredible learning solutions). First Media were lucky enough to have our stand pitched right next to the Avepoint crepe stand. Needless to say our diets that week were void! Keep your eyes peeled for the First Media stand next year… we have certainly been inspired by food this year.
You know that old saying, ‘’Spoilt for choice’’? Well at Learning Tech this year when it came to LMS, you really were spoilt for choice. There was so much on offer and sometimes this can get a little daunting with all the options; what they can do, what you want them to do, how to implement and operate and so on.
Luckily for you, the team at First Media are experts when it comes to LMS and we work with our clients to help them choose the best system for their business. By producing SCORM compliant files as part of our eLearning projects, they are designed to work with any LMS. We also offer a Lite LMS which is ideal for people who just want something simple to accompany their eLearning course.
The Thrive stand looked the most fun and we loved the horns from Klaxoon!
Starting with the Thrive stand this year, it really was the place to be! Offering barista-style coffee, sweets, a shooting hoops game, giveaways and prizes. It was a hub of excitement that could be heard throughout the venue with a wacky scientist and even some pyrotechnics on display. A true inspiration to us all and we certainly will remember it for a long time.
Also, it would be wrong if we didn’t mention the sea of pink over at the Klaxoon stand! Fabulous smiling faces, bright pink hoodies, awesome horns and live demos had people buzzing about full of excitement and questions. The exhibitors this year were FANTASTIC!!
After a whirlwind couple of days at the ExCel, the team at First Media are back working on some very exciting eLearning projects for current and new clients alike. We definitely have a few ideas already on the drawing board ready for the 2023 show, watch this space!
