We were the loudest and proudest on the night at the NLBA Awards collecting a well-earned trophy and certificate from award sponsors HBP Systems. Up against tough competition from well-regarded companies, Root2Recruit and ID Architecture we were ecstatic to have won!

The Innovation Award

The award recognised businesses that have found and developed new solutions to business growth or competitiveness with “fresh thinking that adds value to a business.” The judges were looking for businesses that have been innovative by either:

  • Finding a new way of successfully engaging with customers
  • Developing a new product or service
  • Discovering a new solution to business processes
  • Finding a new way of supplying or being supplied
  • Finding and reaching new markets
  • Developing and implementing methods for increasing efficiency

Ticking quite a few of the boxes, we have reached new markets, discovered solutions, developed and implemented methods of increasing efficiency for the client and end user.

Our Director Shane Traill commented,

“It’s great to get recognition for the work we do and a huge credit to all of the team. We’re producing world class, innovative products and competing on a national basis against agencies in London, Leeds and Manchester… and all of this is happening in Lincolnshire!”

Examples of this include the work we have done within education, working alongside a network of regional colleges and councils and our work with the International Olympics Committee to produce personalised eLearning.

Innovation for Education

The education sector is constantly evolving and over recent years has found itself in a more competitive market resulting in the need to stand out and deliver an increased level of efficiency.

We have worked with Franklin College, Grantham College and North Lindsey College to develop bespoke systems which condense hours of admin time into minutes. The system we have created, seamlessly integrates online student applications into Management Information System (MIS).

The award also recognised our work in creating Lincs2, Lincs4U, Log On Move On & Humber Energy Campus, online portals create benefits and efficiency for,

  • Students and apprentices
  • Local council
  • Regional Colleges

Students to search, select and apply for a wide range of courses throughout the region presenting them with an overview of what the region has to offer. The portal promotes the region as a great place to study and enables colleges to streamline the application process, sending the applications directly to their Management Information Systems.

The IOC

Having recently won some big international contracts, our work is being recognised on a local, national and global level. Working with the International Olympics Committee and World Mark Films to produce eLearning for female athletes across the globe was a great experience which brought with it the need for innovation.

The IOC wanted to monitor and track the progress of users and to measure the effectiveness of the system. The course system needed to be highly personalised and offer the utmost flexibility.

With such a diverse audience, we decided to take an innovative approach.

We created a personalised learning experience based around individual needs. We developed an ‘Intelligent Entry’ point, which allowed the system to understand the user and then offer content that was relevant to them.

We also developed a bespoke, user-friendly ‘Lite-LMS’ to record the user’s progress and capture the data for analysis. By stripping back all of the ‘clutter’ from a traditional LMS, we were able to streamline the learning process making it more efficient.

The product was launched at Rio Olympics 2016 and is currently used by over 10,000 female athletes globally, expanding our reach as business to the global marketplace.

The Evening

It was a fabulous evening enjoyed by many and one we plan to return to next year. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to such a fantastic evening, including Anne Tate and Marilyn Waud from the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce, HBP Systems, Grimsby Institute and Bath Halls.
