The team here at First Media, do a lot for charity both professionally and personally. We have worked alongside charitable organisations delivering eye-catching designs and websites that provide all the functionality our customers need. We have helped them with their marketing materials and events but it doesn’t stop there.

For three years running our Lead Developer, Dane Marshall has taken on the Tough Mudder challenge, raising funds for Help the Heroes, a charity close to his heart…

“Help for Heroes is important for me because I have many friends and family who are serving and have served in the armed forces. I want to be able to give something back, and being part of raising funds for the charity is one thing we can all do. The work Help for Heroes do for our military is amazing and they need all the help we can give them in terms of raising money to help the men and women who risk their lives to keep us safe

Tough Mudder is a difficult test of both physical and mental ability to complete half a marathon with over 20 obstacle courses in the way, some difficult! Not only is it physically demanding, but the course is set out to mentally drain you as well. I wanted to do Tough Mudder for both, testing my mental and physical strength and to support a charity I believe strongly in.”

Events Production Co-ordinator, Steve Howard takes part in an annual charity football match in memory of his friend Liam Parrish “Paz” who died following a motorbike accident. The money is raised through a match fee of £5 per player and entrance fee for spectators and given to the Air Ambulance who attended the scene and, “kept Liam alive long enough for his mum to say goodbye”. Each year donations are made to the local Air Ambulance Lincs and Notts, for more information on the fundraiser please email steve@firstmedia.co.uk. For more information about the Air Ambulance and the valuable work they do please visit, www.ambucopter.org.uk

"Each year I like to try a new challenge and raise money for charity. After seeing a few friends take the Tough Mudder Challenge, I wanted to do it myself"
