First Media at LAMMA 2013
LAMMA is the UK’s leading farm machinery, equipment and service show, hosting 800 exhibitors and attracting around 50,000 UK and international visitors.
Our team braved the freezing weather conditions to set up an exhibition stand for Woldmarsh Producers and display the large graphics that we recently produced for them.
“A big thank you to the First Media team who set-up our stand at the 2013 LAMMA show at Newark. They made everything so much easier, by collecting our kit from our office to setting everything up in readiness for the 2 day show. And the best bit, being able to go home after a long couple of days knowing they’ll be there to take it all down for us and drop it all back at the office. Dealing with them has been hassle free and I look forward to working with them at future events”

The Be First Awards
Several members of the First Solutions Group will be starting 2013 with a shiny new Award on their mantle piece!
Our very First 'Be First Awards' took place at our annual Christmas lunch in December, so along with the turkey and tinsel we took some time out to congratulate staff members who have gone that extra mile during the course of the year.
Be First is an initiative the group launched over two years ago to retain our high standards for customers and provide a postive environment for our team to grow and develop.
Throughout December nominations took place for the 5 categories; Innovation, Best It Can Be, Positivity, Team player and Ownership. It came very close in all of the categories but the deserving winners are:
Innovation Award - Steve Povah
Best It Can Be Award - Mick Kenning
Positivity Award - Steve Sardeson
Team Player Award - Alex Armstrong
Ownership Award - Mick Kenning
In addition to the Be First Awards, we were also able to present long service awards to 2 members of staff, with Richard Stuart and Stephen Janik hitting their 5 year milestones.
A big well done to all winers and nominees, keep your eye on our website for further updates on our Be First activities.

New Online Prospectus is launched for Hull and East Riding
A successful tendering process led to us providing the online prospectus system for the Hull and East Riding areas. The new site has been designed with the learner in mind, providing details of provider and courses available, allowing them to build and submit their applications to chosen courses online and providing a wealth of information about their options and opportunities as they progress along their learning path and into the future.
We have worked very closely with the teams at Hull Council and the East Riding of Yorkshire Council to ensure the site is exactly what they need, in addition to the learner functions it also provides powerful reporting on applications to school and providers and the ability for careers advisors and tutors to log in and assist with the application process.
In addition to the main site we have also created some instructional screen casts which are part of the site the site and screen casts can be seen at www.logonmoveon.co.uk .

New website for Young Referees’ Development Programme
We have been working on some great projects over the last few months – one of which is the new website for the Young Referees’ Development Programme (YRDP). Continuing to build on our strong relationship with The FA as they move into their 150th Anniversary year, this new website holds an array of information and resources to help young referees develop their refereeing careers.
Utilising the flexible Umbraco Content Management System we have developed a user friendly, easy to update site that looks great and holds all the information Young Referees’ need to progress through their refereeing career.

New Online Prospectus launched for Doncaster Movedon
After the initial success of our online prospectus for Lincs2, Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council approached us to tender for a similar system within their catchment area. We were successful in the tendering process and have now provided a fresh and modern looking site for learners within the Doncaster area to search for courses and providers.
These sites are very important for young people, giving them advice and guidance on next steps as well as providing details of what’s available to them at their stage of learning. As part of the project we also designed a new hub page for the Doncaster Careers team, this can be seen at www.connectu2.co.uk and the Movedon site at www.doncasterchoices1419.org.uk.
We continue to work with the team at Doncaster Council and are currently working on a user video for the sites – Watch this space for news of that project once complete!

Face lift given to North East Lincs online prospectus
Our existing online prospectus, Lincs2 – has recently undergone a facelift and the design is now much more relevant to the learners. There have been some enhancements made to the site too meaning the application process is easier for the learner.
A new Health and Well-being section has also been added giving advice to young people on topics that can affect Young Peoples lives.
The site continues to offer a one stop source of information for all learners within the North East Lincolnshire area. And it doesn’t stop there, work is currently underway to integrate the Lincs2 site into other providers sites to make the receipt of applications much easier. Look out for addition information on that coming soon. You can view the Lincs2 site at www.lincs2.co.uk
